Evaluation of a Peer’s Research Paper
Writing is the way students show expression of understanding a particular concept. Understanding the concept entails following instructions and the marking rubric to achieve more and deliver the best assignment. The guidelines for good writing standards include proper and appropriate citations and referencing in-text citations, and good use of punctuation marks (Bowers, 2020). Additionally, effective word selection and appropriate sentence arrangements are other guidelines for writing a good paper, but the most important one is staying on the topic and answering the question asked. This paper seeks to review by evaluating the effectiveness of writing in the Research Paper Final assignment.https://penstrokeswriters.com/?p=332&preview=true
The paper displays various positive marks of the writing and following instructions. The introduction of the paper touches widely the Internet of Things that brings the attention and interest of the reader to continue reading the essay. Additionally, the introduction serves the purpose as there is a thesis statement that gives the primary intention of the paper (Onwuegbuzie, & Combs, 2018). The paper is also organized in a systematic format that the sub-headings are bulleted. The bulleting gives a clear picture of the arrangement of ideas in the paper. The flow of ideas is straightforward as there is a topic sentence and a discussion of the sub-headings. The points of the discussion are brought clearly with correct arguments. Furthermore, the author of the paper employs diagrams to indicate the points in the paper and bring out the picture of what is being discussed.
The paper answers the questions as required by the marking rubric. The arrangement of the answers in the paper is transparent, meaning that instructions were followed while writing the paper. The paper has citations at the end of the paper in reference form according to APA format, and there are in-text citations appropriately used in the paper. The paper also follows the format of an essay with the introduction part, the body, and the conclusion part.
The paper also displays some weaknesses like formatting, the referencing part, in-text citation, among other weaknesses. The format of the paper is not correct according to the APA format; the indentation of some of the paper parts is not done correctly, and the paper body part should be first-line indented (Onwuegbuzie, & Combs, 2018). The cover page is not formatted correctly, and the reference page should be on a different page. The paper’s citation is indeed not appropriate at all; some articles at the references have not been cited in the in-text. Lack of intext citation within a paper can ruin the credibility of a paper and can be treated as a plagiarism issue (Fazilatfar et al., 2018). All the facts in an essay that deals with previous figures and other authors’ findings must be accredited by in-text citation to indicate borrowing of ideas. Additionally, the references are not arranged in alphabetical order from A-Z. The paper’s author has punctuation challenges; most probably, coma punctuation has been omitted in parts where it should have been. Word choice has also been a challenge to the paper’s author as some words could have been used to bring a clear meaning than the ones used.
In conclusion, the paper has been averagely written to deliver the required answers. Answers are clearly outlined in the paper with a little in-text citation. The paper format is close to the APA format of writing, but it will ascertain the APA level with a few adjustments. The paper content is exceptionally done and can score marks based on following some instructions in the rubric.
